Duo Astrum avec Amy Perry et Martin Bickerton, guitaristes
Amy Perry est née à Ashford dans le Kent. Aujourd’hui elle étudie au Royal Northen College of music. Elle fut élève de Craig Ogden et Gordon Crosskey. De 2004 à 2006, en même temps que ses études, Amy fréquente la Junior Royal Acamedy en temps qu’élève de Michael Lewin. Elle a également suivi des masterclass avec David Russel, Julien Byzantine, Gary Ryan, Johannes Möller, Gordon Dunn, Edoardo Catemario et Roland Dyens. En 2010, elle a joué avec Julian Bream à la Guitar School for music and Drama. Amy a déjà donné de nombreux concerts tant en Grand Bretagne qu’un France. Depuis 2008, elle a formé avec Martin Bickerton le duo Astrum. En jullet 2010, Amy et Martin ont enregistré leur premier album.
Martin Bickerton est un des guitaristes les plus prometteurs de sa génération. Il a étudié à la fameuse « Chetam’s School of Music » avant d’être récompensé d’une bourse pour ses études au « Royal Northern College » à Manchester, où il est actuellement en dernière année de l’équivalent d’une licence avec Craig Ogden et Gordon Crosskey.
Né a Southport en Angleterre en 1989, Martin débute la musique en étudiant la percussion et le chant mais à l’âge de 10 ans il s’intéresse à la guitare. A Chetham, Martin se produit en tant que soliste sur des scènes comme Bridgewater Hall, Manchester Cathedral, Lancaster University, Lincoln Cathedral, Flixton House et dans la cathédrale de Killarney.
Dans sa jeunesse Martin gagne de nombreux concours et festivals dans le nord-ouest de l’Angleterre. En 2006/07 il devient membre du « National Youth Guitar Ensemble » dirigé par Gerald Garcia. Avec cet ensemble Martin enregistre sa performance au « World Youth Guitar Festival » avec le duo Eden-Stell.
Martin participe aussi à plusieurs masterclass avec Edoardo Catemario, Mark Eden, Roland Dyens, Julien Byzantine, Manuel Barrueco, Gary Ryan, David Russel, Graham et Gaelle Solal. Martin va aussi à certains festivals et stages d’été en France, en Allemagne et au Royaume-Uni. Depuis qu’il est entré au RNCM en 2007, Martin s’est beaucoup produit en tant que soliste mais aussi en musique de chambre. Il fait partie d’un duo avec le guitariste Amy Perry et ce Duo est en ce moment en relation avec « Live Music Now » et « Music in hospitals ». Martin a collaboré avec les chanteurs de la BBC et l’émission a été diffusée sur leurs ondes. Il a récemment enregistré leur premier CD de duo de guitare « Inspirado por Espana ». Martin joue d’une guitare de 7 cordes conçue par le luthier anglais Stephen Hill.
Martin Bickerton Classical Guitar
Martin Bickerton is one of the most exciting young guitarists of his generation. He studied at the prestigious Chetham's School of Music and was then awarded a major entrance scholarship to the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester where he is currently in his final undergraduate year studying with Craig Ogden and Gordon Crosskey.
Born in Southport, England in 1989, Martin started his musical life studying percussion and singing but at the age of 10 became inspired by the guitar. While at Chetham's, Martin performed as soloist at venues including the Bridgewater Hall, Manchester Cathedral, Lancaster University, Lincoln Cathedral, Flixton House and Killarney Cathedral.
In his youth, Martin was the winner of numerous competitions and music festivals in the northwest of England and in 2006-2007 he was a member of the National Youth Guitar Ensemble directed by Gerald Garcia. With this ensemble Martin recorded and performed at the World Youth Guitar Festival with the Eden-Stell Duo.
Martin has also played in master-classes with Edwardo Catamario, Mark Eden, Roland Dyens, Julian Byzantine, Manuel Barrueco, Gary Ryan, David Russell, Mark Eden, Graham Devine and Gaelle Solal. Martin has also attended festivals and summer schools in France, Germany and the UK.
Since entering the Royal Northern College of Music in 2007, Martin has been extremely active as a soloist and chamber musician. He has a regular duo with guitarist Amy Perry and his duo is currently on the Live Music Now and Music in Hospitals schemes. Martin has performed alongside the BBC singers in performances that were broadcast on BBC Radio 3’s In Tune. He has also recently released a debut guitar duo CD, Inspirado Por Espana.
Martin Bickerton plays a 7 string guitar by the English luthier Stephen Hill.

Amy Perry – Classical Guitar
Born in Ashford, Kent, Amy Perry is currently undertaking her postgraduate studies at the Royal Northern College of Music where she is tutored by Craig Ogden and Gordon Crosskey.
Before she completed her BMus studies at the RNCM in 2010, Amy attended the Junior Royal Academy of Music studying with Michael Lewin between 2004 and 2006. She has also performed in master-classes with David Russell, Julian Byzantine, Gary Ryan, Johannes Möller, Gordon Dunn and Eduardo Catemario, Roland Dyens, and in April 2010, she performed for Julian Bream at the Guildhall School for Music and Drama.
Amy has performed as soloist throughout the UK (including the Deal Festival and Canterbury Cathedral) and also in France. In 2008, she formed the Astrum Guitar Duo with guitarist Martin Bickerton, and they regularly perform recitals and play at private functions throughout the UK. The Astrum Guitar Duo is also on the Live Music Now! Scheme and they regularly perform on behalf of the charity throughout the North West.
In July 2010, Amy and Marting recorded their debut album, Inspirado Por España. She will also be entering several competitions over the next six months with her duo partner, including the Hattori Foundation, the Tillett Trust and YCAT
